Senator Ted Cruz joined Joe Pags to discuss his current campaign for re-election, tackling the challenges posed by his opponent, Rep. Colin Allred, and what he sees as a threat to Texas values. Cruz, who is currently on a 53-stop bus tour across Texas, emphasized the energy and support he’s seen from his constituents, encouraging Texans to vote early to counter heavy spending by Democratic backers.

“This is a massive battle for Texas,” Cruz said, adding that he views it as “a battle to keep Texas Texas.” His opponent, Allred, has received significant financial backing, with figures like Chuck Schumer and George Soros pouring over $100 million into attack ads targeting Cruz. In his efforts to rally conservative support, Cruz pointed to Allred’s voting history as proof of his “hard left” stance. “His first four years in the house, he voted with Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time,” Cruz highlighted, arguing that Allred’s positions on issues such as border security, police funding, and parental consent on abortion align more with California values than Texas ones.

Pags also noted the intensity of the campaign ads and debate attacks, to which Cruz responded by calling Allred “an incredibly dangerous candidate” due to his voting record as he urges voters to look closely at Allred’s actual record on policy issues instead of campaign ads.

Cruz further emphasized his determination to stand firm against the “radical agenda” he believes the Democrats are advancing, saying, “I’m not scared of these commie bastards.” According to Cruz, the Democratic National Convention underscored the extent of this opposition, where delegates chanted “Beat Ted Cruz” following Allred’s speech—a sentiment Cruz views as validation of his stance as a conservative stalwart in Washington.

Cruz finished the conversation by urging listeners to ensure that their votes are counted, advocating for a decisive victory margin to mitigate election concerns. “Let’s make this too big to rig,” he said, encouraging Texas voters to show up and safeguard the values they hold dear.
