In an effort to tackle teen vaping, officials have ordered that Juul electronic cigarettes be removed from shelves.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, Juul could have had a role in the rise in teen vaping, and the removal "would be appropriate for the protection of the public health."

While the FDA has allowed applications for e-cigarettes from R.J. Reynolds and Logic, the agency reportedly turned away applications for more than a million other related products last year.

Juul is the fourth most popular e-cigarette among high schoolers who vape.
